Nestlé Ghana Ltd has announced the reintroduction of its major loyalty promotion for market women, known as “Mummies,” under an initiative called “Maggi Mummies Engagement”. The programme, which is set to launch on April 1, 2026, marks the return of a scheme that has not been available for five years.
The current component is focused on the Mummies, but the programme will be expanded to other major parts of Ghana, including the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, and Northern regions, making it a nationwide campaign.
The Mummies Engagement was organised by gospel musician and television host Empress Gifty Adorye on Thursday, 19 March, in Accra. It brought together approximately 400 carefully selected “influencer mummies” from various markets in Accra, including Agbogbloshie, Nima, Okaishie, Makola, Ashaiman, Madina, and Dome. They were selected for their credibility in their respective markets, as they are trusted voices who guide other market participants and consumers in making their choices. The purpose of the meeting was to educate and engage these influencers and enable them to serve as ambassadors for the upcoming promotion.
The engagement demonstrates the company’s renewed efforts to engage and reward women in the market through the loyalty promotion. After a lengthy hiatus, the company is determined to reconnect with traders and recognise their ongoing support for Maggi.
